Marshal Gir'a'akis | Gith Exile
Marshal
Marshal of Verdancia
The Marshal protected Regina and Roman Congers, the disguised twin wyrmling dragons and children of King Gaularyz and Queen Jharmere.
After Kastor Raines failed to kidnap the twins, Gaularyz ordered Marshal to watch over the other Youngling Adventurers in the region.
While unobtrusively checking in on Berov and Red a few years later, Marshal had seizures and became blind. "He is coming," was all Marshal was able to say.
Marshal of the Astral Fleet
Before he was "Marshal" of Verdancia, he was Gir'a'akis, Marshal of the Astral Fleet in the githyanki empire. His warships were used to search for Terrajuncture, where the gith could launch attacks into illithid strongholds across the many planes.
Gir'a'akis served Zetch'r'r, a member of Sha’sal Khou, a sect that hoped to reunite githyanki and githzerai into one people and continue the Eternal Crusade as Gith originally intended. Zetch'r'r plotted to overthrow the Lich Queen Vla'a'kith to promote Sha'sal Khou's ideals but was consumed by power and made deals with "demons and dragons" to secure the title of emperor of githyanki.
Marshal Gir'a'akis fell out of favor with Empress Zetch'r'r for opposing her new plans and was exiled to serve her dragon allies on the material plane.
While a dragon slave, he studied some dragonlore which he thinks relates to the psychic energies that gith use.
When Gorgoroth destroyed Zithirun in the Calamity of Gith, all gith were united in a single psychic event which killed many gith, crippled millions of others and heavily damaged the githyanki empire.
The same event may have created psychic shockwaves throughout the multiverse. Gir'a'akis believes that there are those in gith culture, illithid culture and possibly others who will want to find Gorgoroth and get from him the secrets of the psychic energies that he inadvertantly discovered.
He advised Gorgoroth to meditate on positive, grounded feelings when he has them to try to find something to help him control his splintered mind.
