Pardian

Pardians were a sentient species that were believed to originate from space slightly coreward of the Hawker Nebula, with evidence of Pardian civilization having expanded at least as far towards the Rim as the the original Jred homeworlds, and, according to dating estimates, as recently as one million years ago. However, roughly at that time, all evidence of pardian activity disappeared over, on an evolutionary time scale, an instant. Pardian civilization was highly advanced, and fortunately their methods of data storage were comparatively resilient allowing a surprisingly good amount of information about them and their civilization to remain intact. A lot of advanced technology as a result has been reverse engineered from information left behind on data crystals.   Pardian physiology was relatively unusual when compared to life from Old Earth, or even in comparison to life on most terrestrial worlds. Most notably, their means of locotion appeared to be the explusion of gases from their relatively light bodies, floating and directing thesmelves this way, leading many to believe that Pardians originally evolved on a low gravity world, or possibly in a gas giant. Pardians were universally telepathic, using telepathy as their primary means of communication, which would imply that Pardian telepathic ability was extreme, far beyond anything any human, even the strongest psions could ever hope to achieve.   Pardians were known to be curious, and possessing a desire to explore and indeed, many surviving data wafers are scientific in nature, ranging from xenobiology, and astrography, and other harder sciences to matters of philosophy and sociology. Parsing the the nature of these ponderings proved enormously difficult without the presence of a large number of Psions that arose in the fallout of the Jred Scourge. Despite the current dominant theory of extinction, there are a minority of xenobiologists familiar with the Pardians that believe that they may have lef this section of the galaxy to explore coreward, to the other side of the galaxy, or even into extragalactic space.
