Steel

Steel is a type of Mineral alloy. It does not exist naturally but can be created through artificial means by burning Coal to smelt Iron at extremely high temperatures. It appears similar to Iron, but is much stronger and capable of holding a sharper edge. Steel is expensive to produce, but is the material of choice for most tools, weapons, and Armor produced in The Old World.
