Labyrinth
Government
The city is ruled by the authoritarian Cho-tah.
Defences
The Labyrinthine Military is composed of every able bodied Tauran who is a citizen of the capital. Those eligible for military service are issued a handaxe, known as a khop, which is to be displayed at the individual's place of residence or business.
History
The city was constructed, on request of the Taurans as reparations under the Promise of the Pikes, by the Dwarves, and is considered to be a crown jewel in the history of dwarvish engineering.
Architecture
The Labyrinth is a large city comprised of high concentrically-circular walls. The walls made from large, expertly cut stone blocks, stacked 60 feet high and 30 feet deep. The heavy walls are home to Labyrinthine residences and businesses, typically accessed from the concave side of the ring.
The ring walls rotate at speeds and directions that change, seemingly, at random. The rings rotate through some hidden mechanical means that is a Labyrinthine state secret, while the 40-foot broadways between the ring walls remain fixed.
While Tauran have no problems navigating the ever shifting city architecture, non-Taurans experience extreme difficulty finding their way around (30% success rate). This challenge to navigation has spawned a lucrative guide-for-hire business, where local Taurans assist visitors (and even non-Tauran residents) find their way to their intended destination.
