Diplomatic action
In 695BF, the Tauran ambassador to Datan Gor invited the members of the Dwarven council to a celebration to memorialize the Dwarven troops who died during the Rain of Pikes. A contingent from Datan Gor made up of government officials and veterans of the conflict left Datan Gor headed for Labyrinth.
The contingent's travel was interrupted when they found a long stone wall erected across the road to Labyrinth. It was noted that the wall was composed of large stone slabs that had been carved in the shape of Labyrinthine tower shields, and closer examination revealed each “shield” was covered with Dwarven names etched deeply into the surface of the stone.
The location was recognized by the veterans in the contingent as the location where the Rain of Pikes occurred and the names were those Dwarven warriors who had died as a result of the failed attack on the Tauran army. The placement of the memorial on the road to Labyrinth forced all travel the road to Labyrinth to observe and divert around the wall of stone shields.
As the representatives of Datan Gor rounded the memorial they observed the road was lined on both sides by kneeling Labyrinthine troops; the remainder of their trip to Labyrinth was marked by this kneeling honor guard.
