The Royal Eyes

The Royal Eyes of Aundair is the primary intelligence service for the nation of Aundair and one of the oldest intelligence agencies in Khorvaire. The agency was founded by the first ruler of Aundair, Lady Aundair, and continues to serve the Aundairian crown in gathering intelligence and carrying out covert actions to protect the nation.
Based out of the Tower of Eyes in Fairhaven, the organization employs many hundreds of agents across Khorvaire. Their agents are known for infiltrating foreign governments, keeping tabs on dissidents and foreign spies, and occasionally taking covert actions against hostile nations. In addition to mundane agents, it also heavily uses magical means of intelligence gathering, such as scrying and other forms of divination.
The Royal Eyes was founded by Lady Aundair to gather intelligence reports on her younger siblings and vassal lords, and thwart conspiracies against her. In the generations since, the organization expanded to gather intelligence on other nations. During the final years of the Last War, the Spy Master of the Royal Eyes was Nara ir'Galanatyr, one of Queen Aurala's closest advisors. After the Treaty of Thronehold was signed, ir'Galantyr was replaced by Thuel Racannoch, a move that was surprising to observers of the Aundairian court.
The majority of the field work for the Royal Eyes is done through informants, who may not even know that they are supplying information to the Royal Eyes. Full members of the Royal Eyes are given extensive training and testing for loyalty, and must be Aundairian citizens, which can be granted in secret if necessary.
