The Church, led by His Venerable Mercy, Mordicar the Justhand, has ordered the tavern to close before this year's Chilled Slaughter event, marking the winter onset. This act is seen as an abuse of power and has angered many, including the tavern's owner, Cravos Blackburn. In defiance, Fulb Petcher, supported by Astelle and her moonshiners, has redirected some of his wealth to oppose the Church's actions.
During last winter's food shortage, Cravos did his best to keep the rough adventurers happy. Without food to feed them, he turned to the one thing that remained in abundance. Alcohol. As such throughout the harsh long winter, libations flowed liberally, including outside of the "official" hours permitted by the Redlaws.
