Mordoom Keep was once a vibrant citadel, home to a prosperous kingdom. Its proximity to the Forbidden Zone has kept it from being inhabited. Rumors have been spreading of the once-forgotten keep now tainted by an unnatural fungal infection, which turns the living into mindless fungal zombies and feeds off the decay. Tales of the Soul Fungus and twisted creatures within Mordoom Keep have increased in the leadup of this year's winter season.

The location has been visited once since discovery.

Discovered Through Play:

• The keep is off-limits per order of the The Church of St. Ygg
• Those who look upon the fungus and become exposed are believed to be infected through their eyes.
• "Eyes are the window to the soul"
• Wildlife appears to be capable of contracting infection.
• The Sporebane Brotherhood is a secret organization working to destroy this scourge.
• The brotherhood possesses some protective magic and healing during the incubation of this infection.
• After incubation, there is no cure.
• The infected eyes glow with an eerie eldrich purple pulse.
  

Known Entrances:

• Sewer pipe in the cliff face - leads to the sewers and eventually, underground caverns beneath the keeps lowest level.
• Main Gate - The destroyed portcullis provides access to the bailey and main level.
• Posturn Gate - A small single-man opening in the outer wall, a dangerous overgrown & narrow path near the cliff face is the only way to this hidden entrance.
  

Known Factions:

• The Sporebane Brotherhood
• Circle of Vermin - a goblin tribe living in the caves and sewer, rumored to have an enormous rat "The Vermin Hulk". Whose brain is exposed probed with sticks and piloted as though a living siege beast.
• Fungal Plaguewalkers - Consisting of old members of the keep and treasure hunters seeking gold and glory. Now husks of their former lives and infected with Soul Fungus
