Izab'Ariik

Izab'Ariik is the northernmost city of the Djeran Sultanate and is known as the gateway to the Sultanate. Like many of the towns of the sultanate, Izab'Ariik is built upon the foundations of a pre-existing Sehadjer settlement.
Izab'Ariik is known for being a site of cultural exchange due to it's proximity to the other nations of the Realm. As such, it is filled with art galleries, museums, and other venues that cater to tourism.
During the Djeran Expansion War, most of Izab'Ariik was fortified and served as the primary headquarters for the Golden Host during their campaign. When the Holdfast Union eventually launched their counteroffensive, Izab'Ariik was the first and only Djeran settlement to fall. The Holdfast Union utilized the pre-existing military infrastructure of the city to serve as their foothold in the sultanate.
Numerous Holdfast structures still exist in Izab'Ariik today, converted into museums and monuments. These structures were established during the peace treaty between the Holdfast Union and the new ruler of the sultanate, Sultan Ibrahim ibn Sahil Ahl-Djer. There is continued friction between inhabitants of Izab'Ariik over the nature of these monuments. Some consider the Holdfast remnants to be reminders of how the rest of the Realm came to the aid of a nation led by a madman while others see the markings of foreign invaders.
