The Mibrish Dragonlords were 8 Mibrish Humans gifted the Dragon Collars by the Jaharins of Mibril. They led the Mibrish people to victory in the Dragon War of 2978 MA before destroying the city of Mibril in 2999 MA and founding the city of Mibran in 3001 MA. Thereafter the Dragonlords were worshipped as gods by the Mibrish people. More dragonlords followed after them, but over time the collars that controlled their dragons were lost or destroyed. In 4050 MA, 5 of the original 8 are still worshipped by most Mibrish peoples, with Waerda, Ussav, and Loddak worshipped more secretly.
The priests of the Dragonlords claim that they gained enough power to become the gods of the mortal plane. Although there is very little indication that they ascended to godhood, worship of the Dragonlords can result in the granting of holy powers. The religious scholars of Lokain have concluded that some dark deity interferes, promoting evil practices in exchange for magic. Other theories conclude that they must have travelled to planes of heaven to rule the cosmos or joined their spirits in death to become a powerful singular deity with several aspects.
The 5 families that rule Mibran descend from the original dragonlords. Each house heads a portion of the Mibrish Hydraguard.
