The Elf and the Chalice

You make your way through the town of Izalona until you come to a pub, which is called The Elf and the Chalice, a huge shabby terra cotta pub with a straw roof that the locals know best for its huge fireplace.   The Elf and the Chalice is probably some kind of converted mansion; there is far too much artistry in the construction of the hygienic pub's brick fixtures, and the décor is entirely too tasteful to not come from money. A stone fireplace blazes in a corner of the tavern with a few people huddled around it for warmth. The pub is packed with patrons, and you're pushed to the side as somebody makes for the latrine in a hurry.   Behind the counter is who you would assume to be the bartender, a light skinned scrawny elf who is currently talking with a customer. You walk up to the bar, and strike up conversation with the man, who introduces himself as Korfel Rothenel, the proud owner of The Elf and the Chalice.   The smells emanating from the kitchen tantalise your nostrils, and when you ask the waiting staff what's available to drink, they begin to take a deep breath, before listing out a huge array of wines, ales, lagers, and spirits. The server then tells you that while The Elf and the Chalice is proud of its menu, it caters to an exclusively carnivorous diet.   The house cheese is 5 Copper and is a white, with a purple rind cheese which is gooey. It smells like a lemon tree, and tastes bitter, with the rind tasting somewhere between a burnt log and dead bug, but the taste isn't entirely unpleasant.   Menu:

  Tavern Entertainment-
A stirring rendition of 'The Lady and the Faerie Dragon' has the crowd calling for an encore from the minstrels.   Cross and Pile:
Lithe female elf and relatively short elfish man sit around a large table, and take turns flipping a coin. As the coin flies mid-air, the lithe elf calls out the result, and guesses correctly, grabbing her meager winnings.   The Elf and the Chalice has 10 available rooms, which are huge and well cleaned. Because this inn is priced for aristocratic patrons, it will cost 4 Gold to stay here for the night.
