Hejmar House

Hejmar is a very old Maveren House, well predating the founding of Malfa. It was one of the first Houses founded by mixed-race descendants of Sea elves in the eastern seas.
Most Maveren use magic to some degree, but Hejmar has the reputation of being the most magically knowledgeable House, especially when it comes to Maveren shipbuilding and seacraft (which integrally involve magic). By tradition, the master shipwrights amongst the Maveren are often from Hejmar.
Maveren sea spells are secret knowlege, handed down orally rather than written down. Possibly for this reason, Hejmar is a very conservative House; they hardly ever accept a new Maver, and even born Maveren adopted by Hejmar are rarely human or any other race. This has made Hejmar one of the smallest Malfa Houses, but its individual members are still very powerful and respected.
Politically, Hejmar tends to follow Erling House's lead, through a combination of conservativism and political indifference. Erling, Hejmar, and Leidh House form the power bloc through whom all political action must flow.
