Darksong
Darksong is an assassin's guild in the city of Elwic, that before recently had very little relevancy. It mostly handled local contracts, and even then it often lost them out to the Chroniclers. Then, Sorvor Vetsk arrived in Elwic. His successes as an assassin bolstered the guild, and over the course of only a couple years, he was elevated to lead Darksong, by killing its previous leader, as is tradition. Under his guidance, Darksong has found a seat on the Imperial Council, as well as becoming a member of Honored Dawn, becoming second only to them as an assassin's guild.
The members of Darksong have always been fanatically loyal to its leader (other than those who rise highest, who are most likely to kill that leader to try and take the spot for themselves), and this has only grown with Vetsk's leadership. He takes on the hardest jobs himself, and has so far never failed, though no one knows how he is so successful. However, the leadership structure of Darksong means that it's highest are the most likely to be able to be bribed or turned, as the only way for further advancement is more power to take on the leader.
More recently, Vetsk has been taking less assignments himself, and has instead taking to recruiting far and wide, taking most comers, including a few infiltrators to the group from other organizations. Whispers have begun that Vetsk is losing his touch. He insists that nothing is wrong, and instead tries to focus on expanding Darksong from beyond Elwic, as it is quite isolated and distant from many potential contracts.
Allied
Darksong is a recent addition to Honored Dawn, but its great success has made it a highly influential one. Sorvor Vetsk, the leader of Darksong seems fanatically loyal, and gives much of Darksong's resources for the larger organization, and has completed several seemingly impossible tasks for the group personally.
