Eblis (Eb-liss)

Dragon Goddess of Magic

"In the eyes of Eblis, the lowest of mortals are those without potential. Yet even lower, are those who waste their potential."
  • Gregory Vauss: Exploring the Gods, Volume 4
  • Second daughter of The God Mother and patron deity of the Ramerian. Eblis is the goddess of magic, the astral filter, and the seeker of knowledge. She stands as the barrier between the mortal realm and the The Astral Plane.

    Depictions

Eblis is said to have many forms. She is described as a beast, a humanoid, and a dragon. Despite her ever changing form, she is always depicted as a dragon in religious art. Her symbol is a serpentine dragon, coiled around the world, surrounded by stars.

    Divine Roles

Eblis is the goddess of magic and knowledge. She provides magic to the world by filtering the chaotic energies of The Astral Plane. She also oversees those who seek knowledge, granting divine inspiration to those she deems worthy. Many great mages and inventors attribute their success to her benevolence.

    Worship

Eblis is the chosen deity of many mages and scholars, and is historically worshiped by many people. Her worship was once banned by the empire however, as she is also considered a betrayer god for her dealings with The Veannin. This was overruled by Emperor Revus Dawn when he took the throne, arguing that Virago had protected and trusted her.
