Lord Regent

The leader of the Council of Smoke wields a great deal of power over the Smoking Haven. Some might even say more than the God Empress, though never within earshot of the Inquisition.

Requirements

The Lord Regent, like all members of the Council of Smoke is one of the 13 most powerful lords in the Smoking Haven.

Appointment

The Lord Regent is elected by the members of the Council of Smoke from within their ranks, but can not assent to the role without the approval of the High Cleric and the Lord Inquisitor.

Duties

Though having a vote on the Council only when a tie is reached by the other 12 members, the Lord Regent has a sway over the Council that often turns the tide of decisions. The Council as a whole is said to whiled the authority of the God Empress and the Lord Regent is seen as the embodiment of this power.
