Though humanity comprises the majority of imperial citizens, they are by no means the only people that produces adventurers. The empire holds a menagerie of races, each with its own culture and history. Below is a sample of the more common races to walk the face of Vecrona, and a brief explanation of the niche they occupy.
Though not citizens of the empire proper, the dwarves are an ever-present aspect of imperial society. Hailing from the Dragon Peaks in the east, dwarves are of two primary clans, the Goldbrand and the Stormjaw.
The Goldbrand clan are merchants by trade, carrying goods and dwarven coin from their mountain cities down into the empire and sometimes further south to the Desert Wastes. Goldbrand dwarves use the statistics of hill dwarves.
The Stormjaw clan are infamously reclusive; their cities are closed off to outsiders, even other clans of dwarves. They are expert craftsmen renowned even in the lands far to the south of the empire. Stormjaw dwarves use the statistics of mountain dwarves.

When the Celestials and their sylvan servants were banished from the shores of Vecrona, some elven families remained behind and intermarried with the akregian settlers. Though legally considered to be human, the various half-elf bloodlines are nearly a world apart from the other citizens of the empire.

Native to the central plains of northern Vecrona, the akregians are the architects of the empire.
These races are much less likely to be seen in an adventuring lifestyle, though it is not unheard of.
