Nadia Whitecreek is a
Hellrider of Elturel and a paladin of
Torm.
History
Born in a village on the fringes of the
Western Heartlands, Nadia's home was inducted into the evergrowing nation of
Elturgard when she was young. Nadia and her adoptive sister Adelynna Virnelis were taken in by the stories of
Elturel's Hellriders and the promise of a better life, and both enlisted in the Hellriders when they came of age, moving to Elturel and serving with pride and honor.
While in Elturel, Nadia began associating and worshipping Torm, hoping to emulate his valor and courage in defense of the innocent.
During the 1497
Damnation of Elturel, Nadia and Adelynna were among the Hellriders inside of the city when it was teleported into
Avernus. As the commanders of the Hellriders revealed themselves to be almost entirely
cultists of Zariel, Nadia and Adelynna fought by each other's side, eventually making their way to
Helm's Shieldhall, the last Hellrider bastion in the city under the command of
Alcor Miursa, who then passed command to his son
Kaiden after Alcor left for an expedition into Avernus to try and save the city.
Shaken by the betrayal of so many Hellriders, Nadia doubled down on her worship of Torm, becoming a paladin in his name and swearing to protect every Elturian she could or die trying.
Nadia and her sister were among the defenders of the shieldhall when it was
besieged by the
Hell Knights of
Janfire Mistmore. As the siege wore on and the situation grew more and more desperate, Nadia led a desperate push to break through the Hell Knight lines and find reinforcements. Though they managed to escape, Nadia's group was soon surrounded by a group of Hell Knights. The entire group was killed save for Nadia, who was saved by the timely arrival of
Kinsey Eridanus,
Xifira Mistmore, and
Dzarya of the
Lost Star Detectives.
Seeing in the Detectives a chance to relieve the siege and save her sister, Nadia joined with the Detectives, first to destroy a burgeoning sect of the cult of Zariel in the Owlbear Butcher shop before arriving back at the Shieldhall, where the Hell KNights had recently broken through. Nadia and the Detectives secured the courtyard, and Nadia chose to stay behind to stop any further devils from entering the building, while the adventurers entered into the building, ultimately killing Janfire Mistmore and ending the siege, though not before Xifira died. Thankfully for Nadia, Adelynna survived and the two were reunited.
For the remained of the Damnation of Elturel, Nadia remained in protection of the shieldhall, leading numerous excursions into the wider city to find and help Elturians in need. During the
Battle of Elturel, Nadia fought on the front lines at the shieldhall, helping to hold off the waves of demons attempting to slaughter them and holding the line long enough for Elturel to be returned to the
Material Plane.
Following Elturel's salvation, Nadia's heroism and bravery were recognized, and she, like many surviving Hellriders, were quickly promoted to fill the gaps left by the Zarielite traitors that had died in Hell.
