Trollskull Alley was originally, along with much of this part of the North Ward, part of the extended estate of the Mordigan family. Lord Nyvist Mordigan was assassinated in 1013, and left no heirs, and over time the estate was divided up, auctioned off and rebuilt. The main home became what now stands as House Ulbrinter on Delzorin Street.
What became the Alley itself was first known as Lormaunder's Skulk, after the famed exploits of a local smuggler. In 1298, the climax of the downfall of the Shadow Thieves guild, a wizard allied to them fled through the Skulk, and teleported a clutch of Trolls from the Evermoors to cover his escape. Their confused rampage damaged much of the area, before Tazhara Lurael, one of the founding members of the Watchful Order of Magists & Protectors, destroyed them with flaming spheres. The charred bones of the Trolls became highly collectible, once the children had stopped playing with them in the streets. The Alley took the "Trollskull" moniker, and it has stuck ever since.
