Ambient Magic Sickness
After the descruction of Amberlight by the Pyreburner, something spread through the air. It caused though that came in contact with it to grow weak, become covered in burn-like scars, and except for the stongest of people, die. Because of this, people stay away from the ruins of Amberlight.
Causes
Coming within close contact with Amberlight.
Symptoms
Loss of energy and vitality. Burn-like scars across the skin. Lack of decomposition on death, with possible resurrection as an undead.
Treatment
No known treatment. But it is thought that the Wish spell or some form of divine intervention may alleviate the symptoms.
Prognosis
Continued exposure to Amberlight and its surrounding areas will advance the sickness until the point the victim dies.
Prevention
Limiting time spent in or around Amberlight.
History
Was first noted in soldiers in 0 PS that were marching on Amberlight. On the destruction of The Pyreburner and the city of Amberlight, many of the soldiers died instantly, with others becoming extremely weak with burn-like scars.
At first the effect was noted as far as Cindergate but after a few months the area of effect reduced to Amberlight and the wastelands surronding it.
During 301 PS, Gillick 'Hosh' Nocklestump, Marcon Amblecrown, and Wirsidda Gemcutter noted that the Ambient Magic Sickness was significantly weaker than expected with having no negative effects after resting in the Amberlight overnight. They are yet to test the full extent of how much the sickness has weakened.
