204th Naval Fleet

The 204th fleet is one of 20 fleets who responsibility is the Frontier sector know as the Trojan Reach. Its home port is in the sub-sector of Tobia at the Naval depot Omega  located Three days on the Omega moon from the High Port of Tobia. The current Commander of Omega  Naval Depot is Admiral Khety Hiedrun a veteran of 30 years. She has been in command since 1104 3I. The Star Marines 6th Division HQ is also located at this location under the command of Major General Alixandre Hardman a 25 year veteran of the Star Marines. General Hardman was hand picked by Admiral Hiedrun when she took over command of Tobia Naval Depot. 6982nd Regiment under the command of Colonel Alice Primrose calls the Naval Depot there home as well when they are not out supporting the Imperial Navy. The 204th Fleet is the pride of the Reach with one of best reputations in the Sector for it consistent readiness and alertness. The citizens of the Imperium and the citizens of the frontier know they can count on the quickness and availability of the 204th.   Background: The Tobia's 204th Fleet is unusual in that it was constructed locally, at the tech level F shipyards orbiting Tobia (Trojan Reach 3215 (A444A55-F)), the subsector capital. Several classes of ships are unique to this subsector's fleet and not found in regular formations, serving in the Spinward Marches for example.

Tactics

Following what is often called the False War, the Admiralty began a fundamental reexamination of their strategy. Prior to that, naval policy had favored a "crust" strategy, with major fleet elements well forward in potential trouble spots such as the Spinward Marches. For decades this strategy had been effective due to the tremendous technological and material lead enjoyed by the Imperium over its neighbors. The Fourth Frontier War demonstrated, however, that the Imperium's lead had narrowed to the point that a clear superiority could no longer be achieved at all points along the frontier. The new strategy came to be known as the "elastic defense" posture. Priority in the new strategy has been placed on a minimum of fleet assets initially in the actual border areas, but with much larger reserves available for commitment to any one region in the event of war. Within the frontier itself, colonial forces have been strengthened and centered around selected "islands of resistance," high population, high technology worlds capable of withstanding protracted sieges. These forward elements are intended to delay any hostile advances and disrupt sieges of key worlds, until major reserves can intervene and reestablish the status quo.

Training

Great leadership and the willingness to lead by example is one the reasons the 204th train so hard. Even during peace time training is always consistent and keeps the fleet alert. There is a high expectation for the men and women who serve in the 204th. The high demand for the men and women for self discipline and strong leadership is why the 204th  is considered the best fleet in the Reach. This brings high rewards and honor for those who follow the S.O.P of the 204th.

Logistics

Auxilia

Imperial Star Marines 6th Division HQ. Home of the 6982nd Regiment.  The Imperial Marines or Imperial Star Marines are the armed fighting forces carried aboard Imperial starships. Marines deal with piracy and boarding actions in space, defend the starports and bases belonging to the navy, and supplement other ground forces such as the army. By reputation, the Imperial Marines are sent in when something or someone presents a serious threat to the well-being of the Imperium and its member worlds. They are never used lightly, and once committed, they never leave a job half-done. Some derogatorily call them the Lords of Space. The Division General is Major General Alixandre Hardman a 25 year veteran of the Star Marines. LTCol Alice Primrose 6982nd commanding officer.

History

The 204th Fleet has been defending the Trojan reach since its inception of the Third Imperium. The 204th  has always had strong leadership and and the men and women who have served through out the years have been exceptional as well. The 204th fought in all frontier wars with great success. Because of this success the 204th is the most decorated fleet in the Sector. The 204th at one time had friendly rivalries with the 43rd and the 208th that helped clean up the piracy in the Reach. The 204th continues to strive to be the best fleet in the reach. They still have a friendly rivalry with the 208th that pushes both to be the best in there prospective sectors.
