He met Lang when they were cellmates in San Quentin prison, and they became close friends. He was released first, but was there to greet Lang when he was released the following year.
Luis recruited a reluctant Lang to help him with a heist on Hank Pym's house, although unknown to Luis, the heist was actually a set-up planned by Pym himself, as he had selected Lang as a possible future Ant-Man.
He later assisted Lang and Pym in a heist on Pym Technologies HQ to steal the Yellowjacket suit.
