Sakaarans

The Sakaarans (sometimes called Sakaarians) are an insectoid sapient species originating on the planet Sakaar. 

When the Grandmaster took control of Sakaar, welcoming both immigrants and those stranded by the Sakaarian wormholes, many native Sakaarans emigrated offworld. A large faction of Sakaarans pledged alliegance to Thanos, joining the Chitauri as the main species in Thanos's Armies. 

Basic Information

Anatomy

Adult Sakaarans are humanoid, standing upright. They have six limbs, though the centre paid are vestigial, and commonly removed by elective surgery. They have small mandibles, and forward-facing mouthparts.

Genetics and Reproduction

Sakaarans are an oviporous species.

Growth Rate & Stages

The species go through distinct life-cycle stages, beginning as lavae which eventually pupate into their adult form (referred to as Oldstrongs).

Biological Cycle

Sakaarans spend most of their life cycle in their larval form, and lavae may not be considered to be children in the sense mamalian species would understand it, depending on their age. Once reaching their Oldstrong form, they typically live only three or four years.
