Thanos 'balances' the planet Godthab Omega, massacring half the inhabitants, including the large Luphomoid disaspora population.

During the battle, he was impressed by the courage and ingenuity of a Luphomoid child, Nebula, and kidnapped her, making her one of his Daughters.

It was also the first of Thanos's massacres in which Gamora took an active part.
