Session 2 - Kill the Stag Lord
General Summary
The group made their way back to Gerbald's trading outpost, and upon leaving, they navigate through a trap-filled glade. Along the way, they discovered the remains of a hunter who had fallen prey to his own traps, a grim reminder of the dangers lurking in the wild. As they continued, the group found themselves stalked and pranked by two mischievous fey who took the form of rustling piles of leaves: one orange and one green. The group, seeking to put an end to the pranks, offered a small stack of coins to appease the fey.
Next, the adventurers approached a rickety bridge. Hugo barely made it across before the bridge collapsed into the chasm below, emphasizing the treacherous nature of their journey.
They arrived at the Stag Lord's fort and decided to wait for nightfall to launch their attack. Under the cover of darkness, they successfully dispatched a few of the Stag Lord's men. During the skirmish, Alais fell, but was saved by one of the Stag Lord's generals, Jackmond. Once a follower of Agape, Jackmond couldn't stand to see a cleric of his god fall in battle. Hugo confronted and killed the Stag Lord. Following the battle, Jackmond and another bandit, Brawn, decided to join the group, turning away from their life of banditry.
Upon arriving back at the trading post, Franco handed Alais a letter from the capital. Alais had been given a charter to start a new nation in the wildlands they had been exploring. Determined to build a community, Alais chose the ruins of the Stag Lord's fort as the foundation for this new settlement. As word spread, refugees began to trickle into the new town, and together, they started to build a new life, turning the fort into a beacon of hope and a symbol of new beginnings.
