Karapanate of Easivra

The Exalted Karapanate of Easivra is a pan-national religious institution serving the Sun-God. Originating from a small city in Mosehyria, the Karapanate has since evolved into one of the continent's foremost political and military organisations. It is strongly intertwined with, but formally separated from, the Advocate-Kingdom of Akkon. Its current Karapan is Marduk of Sha-Giddon.

Structure

The Karapanate's teachings, dogma, and overall direction is decided by the Fellowship of the Sign. The head of the faith is the Exalted Karapan, who is the only public member of the Fellowship. Its ordained clergy contains a binary hierarchy: mobads and herbads, where mobads are full-time priests who have been officially accepted as public functionaries of the Dawn Eagle. They are known community leaders and tend to oversee local Sun-Temples. Herbads are novitiates and fulfil most of the busywork that the Karapanate demands. The secular clergy has a much looser hierarchy. There is a subset of military members of the Karapanate, the Oval Knights. Unlike the Order of Hyron, whose members ultimately answer to the Grand Paladin, Oval Knights swear direct allegiance to the Fellowship. Their name derives from their oval-shaped shields, which proudly displays the symbol of Easivra: an eagle's side profile at the centre of a sun. The size of the Karapanate renders it without equal amongst the many faiths and denominations on the continent. Official records state that there are around 200000 ordained clergy, double the amount of secular clergy, and around 1000 Oval Knights in all of Kartia, but this number is difficult to independently verify.
