Ship: Edarft's Opportunity

The Pioneer 2107 Colonist Ship Edarft's Opportunity was one of many colonization attempts made in the early days of Human expansion that failed. The expedition left from the Human Territories, currently within the borders of Terran Space, and were intended to arrive in the Otierus System during the Gold Rush on the planet. It was funded by local industrialist Roger Edarft who eventually became a notable name on Alcippe as a colony leader. Rumors around the time indicated that he may have had a silent partner funding the venture as records indicate Edarft was destitute upon departing from the Human Territories but nothing was ever confirmed.
The ship was equipped with an early model Zip Drives. The technology, unsanctioned and in the late stages of testing, was implemented against recommendations of Venus Shipyards. The ship disappeared soon after leaving and a faulty Zip Drives is believed to have been the cause.
