A Traditional City - Kai

Santalune City

Once finally in the city, Kai took in the beautiful architecture, he explained was actually quite beautiful and advanced for the time it was made. As much of an expert as Mige and Crystal were in a battle, Kai was in his element now. Afer a brief, informational tour, they retired at the Pokemon Center for the night. Kai needed to get started on his work—observations about the town, photographs, etc—while Mige and Crystal prepared for their gym battle against Beckett.   The next day, the three of them did some sight-seeing. They mostly stuck around the downtown area. Kai took a lot of photos, during which time he was roped into taking pictures of a half dozen tour groups.   Mige and Crystal scheduled their bouts and Kai got to work, shifting into Writer Mode™. He fell into the groove of marathon writing sessions in the lobby of the Pokemon Center, and he barely noticed his friends going in or out. When the two came back later that night, Kai told them about the reservation his publisher had made for a local restaurant. It was a reservation for a whole table, which fit four. So if they knew anybody in the area that might want to go with them, give them a call. Mige suggested calling Viola Rousseau, a photographer who had saved him from a criminal earlier that day.   The next day, Kai and Crystal watched Mige’s battle against Beckett from the stands. They cheered on their friend, and Kai commented to Crystal that it felt like he was watching school baseball games again. In a good way though! Mige won his Bug Badge and Kai declared their dinner that night would be held in honor of Mige’s victory!   At the restaurant, Kai went into Professional Writer Mode™ while the others talked, engaging in idle small talk at first before moving on to discuss a potential ecological situation occuring out in the Santalune Forest. Apparently there had been instances of parts of the forest being clear cut, and some travelers are submitting reports that make it seem as if a thought-extinct or near-extinct evolution of Sycther known as Kleavor was responsible. The situation was highly curious and Viola was extremely keen on figuring out what was going on out there. She invited the three of them along, and Kai accepted. It might be something he could use in his book, you know?   After dinner, the girls left but Kai told Mige that he felt great and “full of life”. He asked if he wanted to keep hanging out and grab some drinks together? Mige accepted and they would find a bar and start drinking The two would stumble around Santalune, happily indulging and talking and being happ that they were friends! Two boys, hanging out! Just a couple of cards!
