Alan Nash
Alan Nash is an character in Pokemon: New Horizons. Alan is a journeyman Pokemon Ranger and naturalist with a strong desire to protect nature from the encroachment of humanity. He’s definitely rough around the edges but he does possess a real love for the natural world.
Despite this, much of this his demeanor just stems from how serious he takes his work and how important he knows his job actually is. He sees the work as more important than any individual, including himself. That isn’t to say that he doesn’t care about people at all; he bears the weight of the responsibility he has to protect the people who venture into the wilds with him. They often irritate him but he does have a desire to keep them safe. That, in part, fuels his dislike of “fools” who get in the way and put everyone else at risk.
While he may have a gruff exterior (and a gruff interior, at that), Nash isn’t entirely heartless. He has a small circle of friends, and he cares very deeply for them. He’s protective of this circle, and can often come across as overbearing. He also has a tendency to become jealous, especially if “new people” grab the attention of his friends. He’s especially fond of Viola, which means that he’s exhibited more than a little distaste for her new friend Mige and his friends.

Nash is a dedicated Pokemon Ranger with a strong sense of justice. He is a harsh man and pragmatic man, and doesn’t seem to have much patience or compassion for others; if someone is in over their head and gets hurt, that’s their own fault. He’s all work and no play, rarely relaxing or goofing off or making jokes. Nash is a Unovan-born member of Ranger, whose living is made through venturing out into the wild places and solving problems normal people and even standard law enforcement can’t. He has been stationed in Kalos for several years, becoming good friends with Viola in the meantime.New Horizons
He first appeared in New Horizons when he was introduced as the head of the operation venturing into the Santalune Forest in search of the Kleavor that was rumored to be out there somewhere. As the leader of the group, Nash played a large part in the Santalune Forest arc, where he came into conflict and butted-heads with Mige and his friends more than once. After dealing with the Team Relic situation, however, Nash and the others parted ways on much better terms. Nash bid Mige and his friends farewell before he went to wherever the job took him next.Relationships
