Aldur Bonerock

A talented pickpocket, Aldur Bonerock made the mistake of attempting to pick the pocket of Jaret Blackhand himself - and he nearly got away with it. Fortunately for Aldur, Jaret was in a good mood that day, and was so impressed with the young dwarf’s skills that he onboarded him as a Wyrmling. Aldur’s only punishment for his audacity was the loss of his right pinky - he deigned not to mention at the time that he is left-handed.   Aldur grew up on the streets and never knew his parents - he ran away from the orphanage when he was ten. As a result he speaks coarsely for his age (thirty - barely a teenager by dwarf standards) and believes the world is a harsh place where only the toughest survive. He is rather sensitive about the state of his beard, which is only just starting to come in, and compensates by trying to act older than his age. Of course, his idea of “acting older” is to speak even more crudely and move with an intimidaing swagger. But beneath his bravado, Aldur is a sensitive young boy trying desperately to forge a family out of the Thieves of the Hoard.   When Aldur first meets the party, he is suspicious and standoffish, especially towards non-dwarves. To him, the PCs are outsiders who should have been vetted more carefully before being allowed entrance into what he considers his family. He stubbornly questions their loyalty to the organization and its cause, trying to find good reason to oust them. It will take him some time to warm up to the party - but when he does, he will be unquestioningly loyal to his new friends.
