Thieves of the Hoard

Founded shortly after Ruthata Stoneaxe's hostile ascension to the throne, the Thieves of the Hoard fancy themselves vigilantes of sorts. They target government officials and households known to cooperate with the crown. Despite their motto of "Freedom for All," they hardly spread their wealth to the poor and needy. All guild funds go toward their goal of uprooting the current monarchy and installing preferred leaders.   The Thieves of the Hoard comprise some hundred members. Though small in number, their knowledge of the city is unparalleled, and rumor has it they even know a way into the castle. Headquarters are located in an abandoned building in the mountain's interior, with two safe houses in the exterior city.

Structure

Jaret Blackhand, known as The Crimson Dragon, stands at the head of the Thieves of the Hoard. He is its founder and makes all executive decisions.   Below him are his right-hand women, Sigri Oakmaul and Frilda Warhide: the Azure Dragons.   The next rank down is Verdant Dragon, which some dozen members have reached. Notable among them are Yuldrika Arsith and Viren Honorfall.   All members who have been with the organization at least two years, or who have made significant accomplishments, achieve the rank of Wyrmling. Aldur Bonerock is the only member to have been initiated as a Wyrmling, due to impressing Jaret.   New initiates are called Hoardlings. Kordil Shattergut and Uztek Shattergut are initiated as Hoardlings at the same time as the party. Sanean Flaskbelt joined one month prior.   Of course, there are many other members of the Thieves of the Hoard, and you may require more characters to flesh the faction out. The following NPCs are provided to help you do so. Introduce them as needed and keep them in the background - unless of course the party becomes attached to them, in which case they can replace their “prominent” counterparts in function or simply remain as flavor.
