Jaret Blackhand
The Crimson Dragon
By all appearances, the founder and leader of the Thieves of the Hoard is an easy-going, charismatic young man with big ideas for a bright future. But his charm belies a legendary temper that has ended more than one life. A master thief with deep connections across the city and beyond, Jaret has one ace up his sleeve that he’s convinced will turn the tides of the rebellion in his favor: he has found a way into the castle.
Jaret may be intelligent, but his starry-eyed ambition leaves him short-sighted. He believes he was born to rule and that Esset-Khal - indeed, all of Krem - would be better off under his leadership. He is convinced that his fellow citizens will gladly accept him as king if he can simply kill or capture Ruthata Stoneaxe. To that end, he makes no effort to make a name for himself among the people, prefering to stay in the shadows until the moment is right. In this regard, Jaret is a fool. Dwarven loyalty runs deep, deeper than the madness that grips the Stoneaxe family. While whispers of dissent can be heard in dark corners, the majority of citizens prefer to tuck their heads and carry on.
