Dracolichdom

Dracolichdom is a state of purposeful Undeath that may affect True Dragons. Due to its unique causes (see below), dracoliches are extremely rare.

Causes

There are three possible causes for a dragon becoming a dracolich:

1. Certain cults that seek to control dragons may, through terrible profane rituals, forcefully turn them into dracoliches.
2. Some dragons willingly undergo the transformation in order to rid themselves of the need to eat, drink and breath; to eliminate the risk of disease, poisoning, or severe injuries; to gain greater access to negative energy; or any combination of these.
3. Lendys - the draconic god of strategy, battle and sometimes justice, may curse dragons who don't come to the aid of their kind against those who threaten the dragonhome. Unlike the first two reasons, this state of dracolichdom entails suffering and anguish.
