Dryad

Dryads, sometimes erroneously called "Wood Nymphs" or "Tree Nymphs", are fey who take the form of beautiful female humanoids with elven features. From afar, they look identical to tanned nymphs wearing nothing but leaves; if one is allowed to approach a dryad however, the wood-like composition of their skin and flesh becomes apparent.
Dryads are deeply connected to forests and groves, forming a special powerful bond with trees; the bond is both physical - the tree provided the dryad with a home and the dryad protects it and its surroundings; and spiritual - the dryad and the tree effectively share their souls with each other.
