Lunar Ravager Species in Theras | World Anvil

Lunar Ravager

Lunar Ravagers, also known as Moonaxe Marauders or Riburhirads, are a species of Fey associated with Lune and more specificly, her moon.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Ravagers are somewhat reminiscent of elves, though they are significantly bulkier and taller. They have a pale complexion and blonde to platinum blonde hair, and an uncanny malicious glint in their eyes.

Behaviour

Marauders are cruel, blunt, and highly aggressive. They seek prey only for trophies, and their dietary habits are poorly understood. While their social aptitude is no greater than that of a hill giant, they are siginificantly more intelligent, and are known for planning ambushes and striking only at favorable circumstances.   Some riburhirads in Grausur have reached some form of agreement with House Fuaráin, and are currently hunting Yokun soldiers at the northern border between Sabersycha and Peraserasia.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Riburhirads possess superior low-light vision, and see by moonlight as well as humans see in daylight; as they are nocturnal, it is unknown how well they themselves see in daylight. They possess an innate knowledge of all there is under the light of luna within their stomping grounds, and can track prey over miles.

Origins

Riburhirads are believed to be the children of Lune and Menas, and indeed consider themselves so. They join the Wild Hunter whenever they can, regardless of his accompanying hunting party, and the few survivors of these hunting trips tell of a strange display of affection from the Wild Hunter towards his persumed children: he congratulates them for bringing him unique trophies, scolds them for losing their trails, and even comments on their technique.
