The Metallic Dragons of Kingdom of Arasil had declared themsleves independent from the Arasilisch denizens. According to all people, the dragon-riders themselves had said that the dragons left them.

After the The End of the Line of Kings, the Dragons had decided that they are not interested in being in the country of Arasil.   However, the Dragons had decided to usurp the power of the Dukes of Arasil - namely after the chaos of the assassination of the King and had established The Ironscale Conclave, thus gaining effective control over Arasil.   This information is highly secretive even among the The Silver Chalice.
