Strannen, the Wordsmith
Strannen (/stɻænɛn/) is the god of education, knowledge, information, and writing. He is worshiped primarily by scholars and academics, and is generally also revered by bards.
History
The Age of Dawn
Perhaps a bit ironically, there are very few extant records about the time in which Strannen lived. Much of what modern scholars know about the god comes from the handful of stories about the Rending War that have been recovered from various ruins scattered across Thesilae. The Rending War
When Strannen's brother Amvald traveled across the Vassalier Ocean to confront Hanzou (who was then leading the Empire of Vurus in a campaign of conquest on Strannen's homeland), both Strannen and their older sister Nondra joined him. Though the exact role Strannen played in their final confrontation with Hanzou is unclear, it is safe to assume that he used his mastery of the arcane arts to aid in the emperor's defeat. Whatever the details, the battle was fierce, and in the end both Hanzou and Amvald were slain, thus leaving Strannen and Nondra to bring their brother's body back across the ocean for proper burial. Instead of returning home with Nondra, however, Strannen parted ways with her in the capital city of their nation. His aim was to assist in the rebuilding efforts, and to take the time to record all he could about the events of the war which his family had played such a key role in ending. In the end, Strannen's dedication to knowledge earned him such admiration from Hasra that she offered him a place among the gods. Seeing his siblings among them already, Strannen accepted.Description
