TX-47 Swarms

A model of Sentient Robots. TX-47 swarms are a large collection of nanobots that can communicate to each other using QEC. An individual nanobot is not sentient, but each collection is. There are enough nanobots that they can combine into 1 large mass about the size of a person, and interact with the world like a person would.   These are one of the few cases where the HF uses nanobots that are not those in replicators. These nanobots are not focused on matter manipulation, rather force application to objects and for processing (so that the collection of nanobots can be sentient). Due to the force application property, they can all cooperatively 'animate' an object, causing it to seemingly become alive. If the object is small enough, there can even be some spare, allowing them to animate more objects. They can also animate biological creatures, taking partial control of their body, but this is highly discouraged as it is unethical.   A TX-47 individual can be difficult to kill using conventional weapons. Their nanobots are almost entirely shielded from EMP, and destroying a small number of nanobots will not kill a TX-47. Regular weapons like assault rifles will not destroy more than a number of nanobots, allowing the individual to survive easily even when shot. Additionally, they can also shapeshift their body shape very quickly and easily. To kill one, some specific kinds of weapons that can destroy many nanobots at once should be used, such as a flamethrower.   In case some nanobots are destoryed, they can also self-replicate. They are hard coded to have a maximum number of functioning nanobots.
