dyadi
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dyadi share the 4 legs, tail, and snout of other canids in the area. Where the Dyadi differ from other canids is their skin and organs as a result of being elementals. Various autopsies and studies have shown that their flesh seemed to be made of plant matter, and do not have a digestive system, despite their mouth and throat bearing identical structure to other canids. As well, they lack a traditional reproductive system, instead having a flower-like structure on their lower back. Their muscles also appear to be a fusion of plant matter and animal matter. At the bottom of their paws, a root like stucture that can be retracted into the body can be found. As well, they do not appear to have eyes, instead gill-like organs across their body.
Biological Traits
Dyadi do not appear to have a gender or sex, with all memebers of the species haveing the same default capablities
Genetics and Reproduction
Instead of a traditional reproduction cycle of other canids, they instead reproduce closer to plants, sharing the pollen-like substance on the flowers with each other. aproximately 2 months after, the pair of Dyadi will drop seeds into the location they have made as a nest, in a 4 month period, the seeds will grow into the form of Dyadi, albeit smaller
Growth Rate & Stages
in a 6 month period after the seeds hatched, they will begin growing larger, with their teeth and claws groing with them. after the 6 month period, they will stay the same aproximate size until they reach 7 years of age, where they will begin wilting for 4 months until their death
Ecology and Habitats
The idea habitat for Dyadi are the great forests, or other plant filled enviorments. from both natural evolution and the elemental nature, they have adapted to be felxible to get through tight spots in the forest, and are able to detect the location of any fauna nearby
Dietary Needs and Habits
Although they can only get energy and water from photosynthesis and the water they get from their roots, they do still seem to hunt, killing prey animals and trying to "Eat" them, althought the meat is then dropped out of their mouth
Biological Cycle
As the seasons pass, their fur color and behavior changes with the seasons. In the spring and summer, they are very active and roam their forests, with a healthy green coat and the flowers on their back blooming. in autumn, they are less active, patrolling only their territory, with an orangish-brown coat and a closed flower. in winter, they stay in a small area, only leaving it if a threat appears, with a brown coat and a dead looking flower.
Behaviour
they often form packs of 5-10, showing great teamwork with their pack members. However, they are agrresive to anything not in ther pack that comes into their territory, including their own species
Additional Information
Social Structure
they form into packs of 5-10 on average, with both of the pair of parents taking care of the young and teaching them
Uses, Products & Exploitation
As they are elementals , whenever they are killed, they release some elemental energy that can be used to power runes . As well, their skin can be used to make a high quality leather.
Average Intelligence
Although they are clever and have shown the ability to learn and solve puzzles, they do not show any signs of sapience or sentience
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
While Dyadi do not have any eyes, they are able to sense vibrations from the air and ground with the gill-like organs across their body. As well, the roots in their feet allow them to sense any fauna nearby, allowing them to avoid the trees and bushes that make up their forest habitats
