Palachya Tanya Kresnikov (a.k.a. Grandmother)
Tanya Kresnikov is the leader and administrator of the Junn Harr settlement of Gorod Barana in the Yellow Mountains. She is a 64-year-old Human that has lived at Gorod Barana her entire life, raising 8 children there and burying two husbands. Her title as leader is Palachya, but she is known universally amongst the residents of the gorod as Grandmother.
Tanya has been chosen to be Palachya, or Chief of the Gorod, by her fellow residents because of her abilities, character and honesty. She is attentive, dilligent and hard-working and is passionate about protecting and preserving the culture of Gorod Barana.

Personal history
Tanya is a life-long resident of the gorod. She married at a young age to an energetic bear hunter named Slaven and bore him 4 children. When he was killed by a Giant Cave Bear after ten years of marriage, she married a shearing master named Lek and bore four more children. Lek died of consumption during a terribly hard winter after 12 years of marriage, and Tanya decided to take a more active role in her community by assisting her neighbors, both transients and permanent. She has been officially titled Palachya for eleven years now, and her neighbors love her dearly.
