Town of Bend
The Town of Bend is a busy settlement in the interior region of the Duchy of Grenwich. It is a farming town and the center of a growing and prosperous agricultural community. The town has a population of 3,800 souls, and 2,000 of them are Halflings.

Government
The town has been appointed a Mayor named Hugh Crane. Hugh is a busy man, as the economy of Bend is booming at the moment, and the population is growing rapidly.
Industry & Trade
Bend's greatest resource is a broad-leafed crop that seems to grow particularly well in the immediate vicinity. Known as tebacum , the leaves of the plants are dried in large airy barns, then packed in barrels and sold across the region. This product is then (typically) smoked in pipes as a stimulant. It is also an important ingredient in many magical and medicinal potions and elixirs, and barrels from the farms of Bend have been shipped to farthest corners of the map as particularly effective.
Infrastructure
A compact walled community where most of the homes and buildings are built into the walls of the town. All homes and businesses that connect with the walls are roofed in slate to prevent fires, and all give access to the defensive features of the town. The four main streets within the town are all cobbled and remarkably dry in wet weather. There are four deep wells located in the town for fresh water.
History
Bend has been home to tebacum farmers for time out of mind, but it is only in the last 20 years that the variety of plant grown in and around the town has become so popular and highly sought after. The revenue generated by this growing demand has garnered the attention of the Duke himself, and many improvements are being made to local infrastructure to ensure the continued prosperity of the area.
