The End

"A roar pierces the air as the Great Ender Dragon flies above the obsidian pillars of the End. This is what greets a hapless explorer after they tripped through the active portal, before they notice the High Enders approaching. For an instant, the explorer sees curiosity and suspicion in the purple eyes before he hurriedly bows his head and covers his eyes as is only polite." - An Explorer's Guide to the End, Chapter 2

Geography

The terrain is mostly comprised of two large areas--the Central End and the Outer Islands, both separated from each-other by the Void. Crossing the Void is nigh-impossible for any but the Enders who call the plane home (quite literally, as that is what the realm's name translates to in their native language).
The Central End, where the rare hapless visitor will end up upon going through an End Portal, is dominated by the Pillars, ten immense columns of solid obsidian in varying heights topped by End Crystals. In the center of the circle of pillars is the Bedrock Fountain, topped by an egg-shaped object (whether it is actually an egg or simply a large gemstone is entirely unknown), and high above soars the Ender Dragon, Queen of the End, who guards the fountain and her realm.
Scattered at the edges of the Central End are End Gateways, which serve as the only way to travel to and from the End Islands, which is where the High Ender civilisation thrives.

Fauna & Flora

The only plants native to the End are chorus plants (scientific name pending), which can only grow on Endstone. Vast forests can be found in the Outer End, with some islands dedicated entirely to farming them. When eaten, they allow a person to teleport in a manner similar to the Enders themselves, and when popped, can be crafted into Purpur.
With regards to fauna, there are only really Endermites (scientific name pending), insects (if they can be called that) with a parasitic relationship toward Enders, and are often found clinging to them like a leech. Endermites are typically shaken off when an Ender teleports, and the race in general is extremely aggressive toward the creatures.
There are also the Shulkers (, strange bivalve creatures which dwell in, on and around any building containing Purpur blocks.
The only other prominent animal, if she can be called that, is the Ender Dragon, queen of the Central End and regarded with the utmost respect by all High Enders.

Natural Resources

The End's primary resources consist of Endstone, Purpur, Chorus fruit, and shulker shells   Endstone is generally mined carefully from the outer islands by the End Settlers when they need it, mainly due to how the End Islands are made almost entirely of the material.   Purpur blocks, fashioned from popped Chorus Fruit, is a curious material primarily used to construct End ships and certain parts of cities.
