Yoko is the matriarch of the Hamato Clan and the wife of Hisashi. She is the mother of Splinter and the grandmother of the Turtles
Yoko was a descendant of one of The Guardian Clans that had long since disappeared, and she had a passion for learning more about this lost heritage and the Yokai Realm. She trained in martial arts in private for most of her youth, and would eventually come into contact with a remaining guardian clan, the Hamatos.
There she would meet Hisashi and the two would fall in love and eventually get married. Afterwards, Yoko would have 4 beautiful children with him. Even then, she was more than encouraging of his decision to take in Oroku Saki after his grandfather, a family friend, had passed away.
Yoko worked hard to be the emotional grounding for her family, regardless of what hardship they went through. Even when Saki ran away from home, and returned pledging his allegiance to the Yoroi Ketsueki. Even when a man she had raised like a son was banished from the clan. Even when her daughter-in-law was brutally murdered. Even when her son mourned his wife. And even when Hisashi sent Yoshi away, never to see him again.
She did not agree with Hisashi's decision, but understood that Yoshi needed closure to get better, and he wouldn't get it staying at home.
Appearance
Yoko is a small, elderly Japanese woman who keeps her grey hair done up in a nice, ornate bun. She dresses traditionally, often wearing a pink floral kimono around the house.Personality
Yoko is a kind, gentle old woman. She cares about all of her children and grandchildren and is open minded about their life choices and who they want to be in the world. She is also more open minded about Yokai than her husband, and is not at all taken aback when she realizes what has happened to her son since he left. She also welcomes her mutated grandsons with open arms. She is independent and can be just as stubborn as her husband. While Hisashi is in charge of the Hamatos, she is in charge of Hisashi, often scolding him when he makes harsh and cruel decisions.History

Yoko and Hisashi have been married for a long time and the leaders of the Hamato Clan for even longer. They are devoted to each other and started a large family together, but the still will bicker between each other. Yoko and Hisashi don't always see eye to eye on many issues regarding the family. Hisashi wants to see the family go bad to their traditional roots, while Yoko would rather do whatever it took to make sure their children and grandchildren were living happy, fulfilling lives. Depsite their bickering, Yoko is an very persistent and persuasive woman and will usually force Hisashi to ease up on his attitude towards the kids.
