“I’ve got some snacks if you guys want some?” April offered. “As thanks for the save.”
“Ooh, snacks,” Mikey approached April closer than any of them had gotten so far.
Raph grabbed Mikey’s arm, looking narrow-eyed at April, who only gave him a reassuring smile and dug around in her bag, pulling out a KitKat. “Can you guys eat chocolate?”
“Yeah totally!” Mikey leaned against Raph’s hold. “We don’t get to have it a lot, though.”
“Yeah, candy doesn’t grow on trees,” April laughed and broke off a piece, offering it to Mikey.
“Hold on,” Leo stopped Mikey from taking it. “How do we know it’s not poisoned or a trap or something?”
“I just unwrapped it,” April said flatly. She broke off a small piece and ate it, cocking an eyebrow at him. She offered it to Mikey again, and Leo didn’t stop him this time. “You guys sure are paranoid. I guess that makes sense, though. Living isolated in a forest being told humans are gonna dissect you.”
“You should meet Tou-chan,” Mikey said as he happily munched his piece of KitKat. “He tells the story really well. Guys, let’s take her to the cabin!”
