Stranger in the Forest
Four figures sat crouched in the branches, ready to jump down at any moment. They were holding weapons and wore colored masks she could just make out in the shade. Most shockingly, though, she noticed that they didn’t look human.“Get a move on, human!” The figure holding a sword shouted at her.
April didn’t have time to process what had just happened; she got her backpack free and got up and started to run as fast as she could. The bearfish rumbled and started off after her again.
“What are we doing?!” Donnie cried as they moved after the mutant bear. “Leo! That’s a human!”
“I know!” Leo barked back. “But we can’t just let her get killed! I know what Tou-san said, but we need to help her! It’s the right thing to do!”
“Right thing my ass!” Raph spat. “You’re just trying to be a hero!”
“What’s wrong with saving people?” Leo demanded. “Like I said, it’s the right thing to do!”
“Can we focus?” Mikey asked.
“You’re one to talk,” Raph scoffed.
