Tirava (tee-RAH-vah)

One of the two ancient tribes in the world of Toh'ren, the Tirava (singluar: Tirav) were created from the first trees in the Tirava'tira by Brê as a gift to xer former partner . The word Tirava is Sandi for "people of the trees."   The Tirava are large beings, averaging around 11-13 feet tall and live in forests, woods and groves (for the most part). Most trees in Toh'ren have two types of seeds. those that grow into a tree right away, which are the most common, and those that don’t grow into a tree until after becoming a different creature altogether. Those are tirava seeds, and are much rarer.   When tirava seeds grow, they are fed by the other trees and slowly gain the knowledge of the trees around them. Then, when they are old enough, they simply stand up and walk away to join the clan of other tirava. Almost all tree species seeds do this, and then, after each tirav dies, they become a rooted tree, who disburses more seeds which grow into new trees and tirava!   At the beginning of their creation, the Tirava had a close relationship with Brê in which the Tirava prayed to, and asked xer for xer blessings. However, over time, their discovery of science and holistic medicine caused them to pray to xer less and less. Brê became consumed with the thought that they would eventually not need her, so Kê - in a final act of kindness from their broken relationship - had the Troppi pick seeds from the forest and spread them across the land in what is now called "The Scatter" decimating the growing population in the Tirava'tira.   Those that were left are called the Tirava'rkhea and because they didn't have to start their community from scratch, they are the oldest tirava on Toh'ren. Until the War of the Forest they were rarely seen by anyone including other tirava.   Over time, the new groups of seeds regrew and evolved based on the climate in which they were disbursed, becoming forests and groves of many different tree types and in turn, many subspecies of tirava.   The original subspecies of Tirava that grew from the Sow are called the Tirava'nea and are the:
  • Ice Shadow Tirava (Tirava’ik’reaki) - hearty pine tirava that were spread to the north and now live in the Ikrati boreal forest. They are known for being jolly and drinking lots of iceberry liquer.
  • Mountain Tirava (Tirava’mot) - the largest group of tirava, who spread through the Upper and Lower Ore Mountains. They are a little arrogant, but also courageous and strong.
  • House of Rushing Water (Lik’ehriigos) were scattered to the east in current-day Zodra in the LOWER PONDS of Wu. They had the ability to talk to the dead, but this led to dissent and they eventually split into two groups.
  • Darkwater Tirava (Tirava’kiehrii) - those that were spread south in Apasa. Very quickly, they sailed to islands and archipelagos in the Great Ocean namely, the DARK ISLANDS. They hate boredom, seek out adventure and protect seafarers from danger.
Other subspecies and forma of Tirava are:
  • Tidal Tirava (Tirava’idehrii) - While dropping seeds on the eastern most land, some seeds blew onto an island called the Isle of Tides. These seeds became a small tribe who live only on the Isle. They are utopians who rarely leave their island and practice a form of water swaying.
  • Moonburn Tirava (Tirava’renkatoh) - Those that continued sailing after the Darkwater Tirava settled on the islands. The Moonburn discovered and live on the southern half of The Fracture. They are healers who use earth and electricity swaying to build magnificent structures like the city of Moon Drift in The Divide.
  • Desert Tirava (Tirava’xoc) - Tirava that left the ancients to build kingdoms in the Resht Desert. They are obsessed with power and use mind control to control others.
  • Channel Clan (Liklê'ehriitrê) - Kind, quiet and caring, they moved to the North Forest. They love to help others and can communicate with all creatures.
  • Tirava of the South (Tirava'ço) - Very intelligent but also very impatient. After the split with the Channel Cland, they moved to the rainforests of Eatu. There they learned how to make objects seem to come alive with a form of swaying
  • Snowmount (Mot’ikrea) - A sub-group of the Mountain Tirava that broke off. They were very wild and loved to break the rules. Eventually they merged with a non-tirav group called The Warriors and became half-bloods known as The Pack.
  • Foothill House (Lik’motlê) - A musical group that uses their TIMAL shoots and leaves as wind chimes that broke from the Mountain Tirava. They are creators and visionaries, and are spiritually connected to the land. They settled in the high plains of Morê.
When the Zo'nadros waged war on the Mountain Tirava during the War of the Forest, a warrior faction from The Communion joined them to fight. After the war, the Mountain Tirava split. The Foothill House joined the Union of Four.   The Communion Warriors, known simply as The Warriors, stayed with Snowmount, and after generations of integration, this group became The Pack.
