Gyzzel Markrand

Gyzzel Markrand a Gnome who was the shire reeve of Silver Falls. He served Baron Kadran Greenfields as his man. He was also man to Kadran’s older brother, Sardan. Sardan was not as good a ruler as Kadran and let his corrupt shire reeve get wealthy off of the taxes of the lands he patrolled. Gyzzel clung to his ways, at least long enough to garner enough money to seek a noble office from the King of Summerlund. When the kids he tormented became the Fire Wasps, and they were granted the Old Manse by Kadran, he realized his time had come, and resigned his office, fleeing east to seek other favor.

Gyzzel employed a group of toughs referred to as the Reevesmen. They strong-armed townsfolk into paying taxes, even when they couldn't afford it. Gyzzel has an excellent knowledge of even the most obscure laws and fines, and he used them to eke coins from the locals. He wears a pointed, furred cap and elegant clothing, riding on a horse that’s much too big for him. His current whereabouts are unknown.
