Lolth

Lolth is a foul Goddess venerated by the Drow. She manifests either as a beautiful drow woman, a giant black widow spider, or a horrible amalgam of the two. She was once called Laloltharia and worshiped as a goddess of cunning and intrigue by the Eladrin of Eldanor as part of The Four Sisters . During The Feywar , however, Lalotharia tried to consume the power of her sisters, even as the eladrin found themselves at war with the drow. With the defeat of Laloltharia and the drow, both fled. Lolth as she was now called, slipped deep into the Elemental Chaos, taking up residence in the Abyss and enslaving many Demons who opposed her. She now rules as a goddess of chaos and betrayal.
