Peryton

Perytons are monstrous creatures with the heads of stags and the bodies and wings of raptors. They are vicious carniovores, preferring to eat the still-beating hearts of humanoids when possible (especially Humans, Elves, and Eladrin.) One of their more remarkable attributes are their shadows, which are those of humanoids. This gives credence to the legend that they originated from an Arch-Fey's curse upon evil men.
