Claudia Aurelia

Lady Claudia Aurelia Savoia (a.k.a. Lady of Oranges)

Claudia Aurelia is the daughter of Lucius Claudius Aurelius and Livia the Younger. Her father was a patrician and could trace his lineage back to the original conquerors of Ad Pontes. Their family home was Domus Aurelius, which was situated in the city of Ponta, the Ponteic capital, where Lucuis Aurelius worked as a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praetor#Praetor_urbanus  Claudia's mother died in childbirth, leaving Claudia the sole heir to her father's household. Lucius arranged for the girl to have a solid political education, teaching her in all manner of running a household as a man, before sending her to the tutelage of Catherine Dorleac at Brunhilde, where she would learn feminine skills. As she was born towards the end of the Ponteic Empire, Lucuis hoped his daughter would inherit their home directly from him, so he avoided marrying her off too soon.   Lucius died in 1552, and instead of passing to Claudia, the estate passed to her cousin Pontius, who promptly married her off to Leo Francisco Savoia. Claudia was very upset about being overpassed, and was very disappointed with her new husband. Accustomed to city life, Valencia was provincial in comparison. Her husband also had masculine, outdoorsy hobbies that she had never participated in: hunting, hawking, swordplay, etc.    However, Leo quickly came to understand the gift of his wife's talents, and asked her to manage the business accounts of the estate. He additionally commisioned a library to be built in Casa Naranja for his wife's benefit. The two came to truly love and respect one another. In 1555, Claudia became pregnant with their first child.   In 1555, Leo went to war for Sacristan against the remaining leaders of Ad Pontes. During the Sack of Ponta, Pontius Aurelius was slain, presumably by Leo. When he returned to gift his wife Pontius's helmet (which once belonged to her father), he met his firstborn son: Lucius Savoia. When he went back out to battle in 1558, Claudia was left pregnant once again.   During her husband's tours, Claudia was left in Valencia with her grandfather-in-law Sebastian Savoia, whom she became very close with. When she gave birth to twins in 1558, she named the boy Sebastian Enrique Savoia and the girl Noelia Ines Savoia, after Sebastian's daughter.   In 1558, Claudia and her husband attended the Feast of the Lions, where Sabina De Domenicio legitimized Leo Francisco on behalf of her husband. Claudia reunited with her good friends Capucine and Antoine Dorleac from Brunhilde, and was able to have her children blessed as heirs of Francisco.   After Leo returned, the two had two more children: Joanna Savoia in 1560 and Miguel Savoia in 1562. They all reside in Casa Naranja to this day.
