Elf
Elves of Trorune stand as a captivating and enigmatic species, and has four recognized subspecies: the High Elf, Wood Elf, Sea Elf, and the Dark Elf, more commonly known as Drow; each subspecies bearing its own distinct characteristics and allure.
High Elves, with their ethereal beauty and innate arcane prowess, are often seen as the epitome of elven grace, excelling in the arcane arts and wielding a profound connection to the natural world. Wood Elves, ever attuned to the whispering of the forests, move with effortless grace and unmatched speed, becoming skilled hunters and elusive scouts, at one with the wilderness and the Primal Magics and Fey spirits within. Sea Elves, bearing the allure of the ocean depths, are born swimmers and divers, gifted with the ability to breathe both water and air, as well as a natural affinity for sea life. Drow, the enigmatic Dark Elves, shrouded in darkness and subterfuge, excel in stealth and cunning, with a society forged amidst the complex matriarchies and the poisoned, near-absolute mono-theocratic control of The Spider Queen, Lolth in the shadows of the Underdark where even the smallest, percieved, wavering of loyalty and devotion is met with the cold touch of death. The Drow often harbor a keen understanding of the darker, deadlier, and more ancient branches of magic and the deadliest forms of execution; skills they use to great effect on those on the surface of Kalbela and on each other.
Each elven subrace carries its unique cultural customs and traditions, shaped by millennia of history and divergent paths. The High Elves, residing in ethereal cities or hidden sanctuaries deep in enchanted forests, embrace a life steeped in the arcane, mastering spells and lore with reverence. Wood Elves, choosing to dwell within the ancient forests or among the vibrant life of the meandering glens, revel in the dance of the natural world, viewing harmony with nature as their greatest virtue. The Sea Elves, with their ethereal eyes that reflect the vastness of the oceans, gravitate toward coastal settlements and coral cities, delighting in the mysteries of the sea and safeguarding its secrets. The Drow, dwelling in labyrinthine cities beneath the surface, navigate the treacherous intricacies of their society, embroiled in a delicate dance of power and intrigue, often worshipping deities of darkness.
Despite their differences, Elves share some common traits: longevity that stretches centuries, an ethereal allure that captivates other races, and an inherent gracefulness that imbues their every movement. Their pointed ears and slender frames distinguish them, and their unique eye colors reflect the splendor of their individual subspecies: High Elves tend to most commonly have green eyes, with some possessing golden eyes or eyes exhibiting blue hues; Wood Elves tend to have green, brown, or hazel eyes; Sea Elves tend to have turquoise, white, black, blue, green, and, rarely, silver eyes; Drow tend to have red eyes, or rarely gray, violet, or yellow, while in darkness but can manifest as different colors in sunlight.
